Rick and his wife, Emily, have a daughter at Carolina Park Elementary School and a son at Cario Middle School. He is passionate about volunteering in our educational system and does so because he feels fortunate to live in an area with such great schools for his children. Rick is the Chief Consumer Banking Officer at BNC Bank (which will soon be known as Pinnacle Financial Partners), where he is responsible for the consumer-related functions of the company, which includes all of their branches throughout the Carolinas and Virginia.
Margaret (Midge) Moran
Midge is a retired Cario teacher. Before coming to Cario, she taught in Honduras, Central America. Her interests include choral singing, gardening, cooking, travel and visiting her family. Midge was a founding member of the PWCEF and encourages you to considering joining us as a volunteer!
Kenny and his wife, Phoebe, live in Dunes West and have been active volunteers in the Park West campus schools since they moved to Mount Pleasant in 2008. They believe that supporting our schools is a civic responsibility that extends well beyond paying taxes, and that parental involvement is the critical component to achieving excellence in education. They have two children, now high schoolers, who attended Laurel Hill, Pinckney and Cario. Kenny’s full-time job is to manage electronic trading at a subsidiary of Tower Research Capital, in Mount Pleasant.
Rick is a retired Army Veteran and an active resident of Mount Pleasant. In addition to his role as our Treasurer, he is President of the Notre Dame Club of Charleston, Chairman of the Mt Pleasant Historical Commission and Executive Board Member for the Avery Institute of Afro American History and Culture. He is uniquely qualified to be our treasurer as a former examiner for the New York Stock Exchange, former Treasurer for Coopers and Lybrand, and has been the CFO for 2 start-up telecommunications companies.
Laurel Hill Primary PTA President
Taryn lives in Park West with her husband Patrick and three children – Olivia, Jack and Benjamin. Olivia attends Pinckney Elementary and Jack attends Laurel Hill Primary. Benjamin will begin at Laurel Hill Primary in the fall of 2018. Taryn’s involvement with the Laurel Hill PTA began in 2014 as the PTA Secretary, where she served until stepping into the role of PTA President. Taryn is the Vice President of Global Consulting at SIRVA Worldwide Relocation & Moving.
Pinckney PTO President
Shanna has two children that attend our Park West schools, Ella (a fourth grader at Pinckney) and Ava ( a first grader at Laurel Hill). She and her husband Michael have lived in Park West for 17 years and she has been actively been involved in all 3 of our schools for ten years..
Cario Middle PTSO President
Robin has two children that attended the Park West campus schools and are currently attending Cario. She has always volunteered her time to these schools as much as possible. Robin recently coordinated Cario Middle School’s Internet/Social Media Safety Seminars for parents and students, Cario’s Drug Awareness/Prevention seminars and volunteered as co-chair for Cario’s Spirit Store. After graduating from the University of South Carolina, Robin worked full-time in the health care field for 20 years then shifted to being an assistant teacher at Lighthouse Christian Learning Center in the multi-age kindergarten class. Robin, her husband Joey and their two children live in Dunes West. She enjoys spending time with her family in the boat, at the beach or the pool.
Annual Campaign Chair
Kristine and her husband, Brian have lived in Dunes West since 2014. Her youngest children currently attend Pinckney Elementary. She has volunteered in various school systems since 1998, coaches youth soccer, and is an active volunteer at Blissful Dreams Farm. She believes being involved with her children in the community helps build character and a sense of social responsibility. Kristine is an Independent Consultant who focuses on business development and strategy. She enjoys the great outdoors and travelling with her family.
Community Engagement Chair
Carrie, along with her husband Mike and children, live in Indigo Chase. Her daughter, Caton, is in second grade and her son, William, is in Kindergarten at Laurel Hill Primary. In their free time they enjoy the beach, biking and taking advantage of all that Charleston has to offer. Carrie is a real estate broker and she and Mike own a home building company.
Social Media and Website Chair
Danielle, her husband Brian, and their two daughters moved to Mount Pleasant in 2011. The girls have grown up in the Park West campus schools, and both currently attend Cario Middle School. Danielle likes to spend free time on the boat, at the beach, or taking trips to visit family & friends in Florida, where both she and Brian are from. Danielle works full-time for Verge Health, a Mount Pleasant-based software company.
Formal Event Chair
Hannah is a wife to a local business entrepreneur and a mom to 2 children– with a son who is currently in the 3rd Grade at Pinckney. Her family resides in Dunes West and moved to the Mount Pleasant area in the summer of 2016 from Orlando, Florida. She owns a children’s clothing line, which she has had since 2012 on Etsy. She has always been an active member in her church, community, and children’s schools. In her free time she enjoys hanging out with friends, exploring with her family and watching movies.
Kristine Petereit is the former PTO President at Pinckney Elementary where her son attends, and served as PTSO Recording Secretary at Cario Middle School where her daughter attends. She is passionate about youth and education. Kristine works part-time as a non-profit fundraiser for an organization that serves children victimized by assault and abuse, helping them to heal and return to normal lives.
Chris and his wife, Katherine, have five children, two of which attend Laurel Hill. Chris was a decorated Police Officer in the NYPD and Long Beach Police Department until he suffered career ending injuries after being hit by a car. In 2014, Chris and his family relocated to Dunes West. For over 20 years, Chris has volunteered his time to various organizations. Today, Chris serves as the Vice President of the Dunes West POA Board of Directors and at Seacoast Church.
Brian and his wife Kristine have a son and daughter in 3rd grade at Pinckney Elementary. His family has resided in Dunes West since 2014 where they relocated from Massachusetts. Brian has coached both baseball and basketball and Kristine currently coaches soccer in the community. They enjoy spending time with friends and family, especially when it includes outdoor activities. Brian is a senior leader with Deloitte Consulting, LLP. Brian also served in the U.S. Army for 4 years where he was assigned to the Presidential security detail and stationed in Washington, D.C.
